A Ph.D. in the appropriate discipline is compulsory.

A Master’s degree with a percentage of 55 or equivalent grade in any related or allied subject.

Work Experience:

An experience of at least eight years in teaching, research, and/or industry with a minimum of two years post-Ph.D. experience.

Candidates should have a proven research experience as evidenced by publications in reputed journals, patents, or any other recognized output.

Research Contribution:

The candidate should contribute significantly to the discipline by scientifically publishing peer-reviewed journal articles, conferences at national/international levels, and the successful execution of funded research grant proposals. 

Pay Scales and Service Conditions

Pay Scale:

The pay scale of an Associate Professor is based on the recommendations of the 7th CPC to match the norms of the central government.

Allowances and Benefits:

Promotion Criteria:

FDPs:

Institutions are encouraged to conduct and organize Faculty Development Programs to bring the faculty updated in their fields.

Research and Consultancy:

Encouragement is made for Faculty members to engage themselves in research projects and consultancy services to build the knowledge base and connect the industry with academia.
